Introduction

The City of Sammamish is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies on the Sammamish Parks and Recreation Commission. The terms end January 31, 2031.

Interested applicants must apply by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2026. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.

General Information

The Parks and Recreation Commission is an advisory group to the City Council. It provides input on issues relating to the delivery of parks and recreation services to Sammamish residents.

The Parks and Recreation Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at City Hall.

This is an unpaid volunteer position.

To be considered for appointment to the Sammamish Parks and Recreation Commission, submit an application using the form below..

During the City Council meeting on Tuesday, January 5, 2027, the City Council will review applications, conduct interviews, and vote on applicants. Formal appointments will be made by resolution during the Tuesday, January 19, 2027, Regular Meeting. This schedule is subject to change.

Appointment to the Parks and Recreation Commission will require your consistent attendance at regularly scheduled meetings. Are you available for evening meetings?

In our City, no board member has any authority from the City Council to speak for the City in any written or oral communications. Using your title as a commission member in your communications may create the perception that you are speaking for the City.
